Snapshot

Rail Drone added 3 years ago

Snapshot is an extremely quick and nimble tier 6 shoot and run sniper. It excels at sneaking behind the enemy hitting them unaware then skittering off to hit them from a different angle before they even know where you were. The mix of sleds, thrusters, and a t4 rudder let you cruise at an impressive 200mph ground level and fly slightly faster around 250-350mph. The flying is very smooth and easy to control letting you land in the perfect place to snipe or quickly fly out of danger.

While it only uses 2 rail guns they are both t8 and pack quite a punch against t6 bots. Two well aimed shots can take out a good portion of players and cripple any of them.

It uses all t7 cubes except for one t8 which helps keep the pilot seat better protected and one optional t6 to mount a speedometer. Vehicle is planned out with damage routing to allow the most important bits to fall off last, entire back portion of vehicle around pilot is a shell and not directly connected to seat to maximize survivability.

While it is slightly overtiered cube wise keep in mind this is a very tiny craft you should not be tanking damage. You are faster than anyone else out there and can fly in any direction, take advantage of it!

Video of a random 5 kill game, team lost but a decent demonstrative video of the bot

That looks like a great concept. Really fragile, I assume, but I have grown fond of the fragile-sneaky sniper build. Great idea, I'm always glad finding originality!

It's pretty fragile but not quite as much as you would expect. The cluster of thrusters provides some protection and it's designed to route damage away from important areas and has some redundancy turning thrusters near the pilot seat so you can scoot around to kill people or find a medic even while damaged. (Although you should really not be taking damage unless you have to 1v1 an smg)

Where it thrives though is flanking and being very difficult to hit because of your size, speed, and ability to change direction without warning. There's something very fun about being about to fly or drive circles around everyone. If you see anything to improve on with the design please let me know!

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.
