Sandwich Drone

The Sandwich Drone

I've searched for a sandwich build on Robocraftgarage, but wasn't able to find one. As I think such a basic build should be available on this site, I've decided to post mine.

Since the EP weight increase I'm not a big fan of Sandwiches anymore. Now they are realatively slow and by far not as responsive as they used to be. However they are still a good entry point into thruster sticks.

Even with the increased weight a Sandwich can make a relatively good healer drone. They can move over the map fast enough to patch up team mates in trouble (including bots in the sky). They are also a relatively tanky build as long as you can keep moving and spinning - just make sure people can't take their time to aim for your sweet spots and try to make sure the same EP doesn't get hit repetitively. Treat the ground as lava! The AoE damage of Plasma volleys splashing on the ground can do nasty things to sandwiches.

Sandwiches are also kind of viable plasma bombers - though I personally prefer "real" thruster sticks or bombers which can take a beating and operate properly afterwards for plasma weapon usage. Sandwiches are definitely too squishy to be considered as SMG drones.

Since the Electromania update I think sandwiches are a viable option for the new game mode. I've uploaded a new gameplay video.

As the recent patch has reduced the shield of all E-plates by 25%. Also, unlike weapon damage, the shield of E-Plates, does not get stronger with increasing OC level. All the survivability of the snadwich resulted from mitigating incoming damage with the shields. On higher OC levels it only takes very brief time for any weapon to shred the shields. Rails can even one shot them.

Perhaps this build has still got a niche for the classic game mode, but I don't think it's a viable choice for the new Meta game mode

@Oilspill that search term yields the same results for me. None of those builds, including yours, are drones. Also all of them are open-faced sandwiches... with the topping on the floor! What a calamity!

@Oilspill Well, I have tossed "sandwich" into the search function and robocraftgarage hasn't spit out one of these drones.

Try to enter 'Sandwich' instead of 'sandwich'! You'll get 3 EP sandwiches and... a normal sandwich...
Capital 'S' makes so much difference! ;D

now this is too fragile XD, but still with the weight you can't put many things on it...

Ehm... What? No Sandwiches on RCG? Good joke! To be honest there were plenty of those, you just might not get far enough! I am one of those sandwich builders too! ;D

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.
