The Protonium Crisis, Part one: MLC Icon-1

General Robot added 3 months ago

Suddenly made a video using old records I had, enjoy x)

Plot

It is nine months since the massive atack of extraction sites on Mars by The Infected. The situation with the crisis resulted temporary respite in strained relations between E14 and CF-Alliance. Both factions are saving their protonium stocks and working on their own plans of dealing with a bigger threat.

E14 has relaunched megabot program: Everyone, including veterans who already has numerous battles using megabots is going through renewed pilot training on simulators. Huge armored bodies, even bigger this time, are awaiting protonium crystals at Combat Robot Facility. However, neither of those has been seen in real engagement, but in custom made battlefield simulation scenarios. Meanwhile, E14 robocraft carriers with regular low CPU army has been attacked during landing on Mars. Opened window has detected multiple debris of Kiryxes lying around in deserts of Mars, and another Advent being constructed underground...

It's a bit of mystery what is on Reader's mind, the leader of CF-Alliance. Of course he doesn't give up on Mars, but something had changed after CF-Alliance successfully repelled E14 on ESS Vanguard crash site and salvaged the fallen ship's central core. Besides classified navigation routes through the Twin Jet Nebula it contains different usefull information. Also, it appeared that Vanguard's protonium reactor was manualy overcharged by its crew members and all generating energy was directed to power its fusion discs, resulting complete burn of all shield modules after the jump. That includes the shields that were securing the reactor itself. Reactor explodes on a course to Earth, pilots attempt a dead stick landing, but they fail. The question is, why they had to fortify their shield and go beyond its limits?

Meanwhile on Mars, abandoned to the mercy of fate, commanders of remaining forces of E14 and CF-Alliance decided to work together against infected robots. Together they have formed MLC (Mars Liberation Coalition), they believe they can turn the tide by a combined effort. Their headquarters is located on the air base, Icon-1, that was built from scrap. Known weapons were inneffective against infected robots, so all former E14 and CF-Alliance engineers started upgrading their weaponary first. They currently develop new railguns with a higher penetration power that could go through The Harbinger's or even Advent's shield.

A lot of eye candy. Love the megaweapons, it would be nice if we could activate fire volleys in Custom Mode to make them operational. Enjoyed video a lot, my compliments, view from the cockpit was great!

Mate awesome video. You should make a full length movie. Where all the players hack into the system and take over from FreeJam and we control what happens to the game. Just an idea. Great job..... I'm off to watch it again.

Thank you! It is unlikely that there will be a movie, it is way too complicated.

Very nice, full of action! A bit hard to catch up with the plot sometimes, but very cool overall :3
Robocraft could use a bit of ingame plot imo, and that's the best example for it! :D

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.
