Plasmagica

Plasma Bomber added 2 years ago

My first attempt to make a plasma bomber. I use a lot of aerorods to distribute the damages. One railgun shot can't destruct too many areofoils / rudders.
I use the same setting as Timelue's Mustang for the vertical rudders.

Pros :
-The handling is incredible, it can turn back instantly and fly at very low speed.
-Redundancy : 6 Aerofoils and 10 rudders.
Cons :
-Too many aerorods reduce the HP, 1 railgun shot = 10%
-It's big

Wow. Just wow. It's builds like this that restore my faith in the bomber category of builds.
Not gonna say much other than:
- It's not a flying brick of EPs, and actually looks something like an aircraft,
- That paint job :D,
- The usage of a split rudder tail (something that I feature in my own (soon to be published)) heavy bomber

Hi, thank you for your comment. I bought some halloween wings too to try to build one, but I'm trying to make it look really agressive. (the hull is too smooth with normal cubes)

I rented this, this thing has tanked 2 rail vollies and flown back to base to heal... I used said rental to build a normal version, and since it is Halloween I armored it with hallow armor and the Mk10 bat wings (I had to put it on the shop trololol, it looks that badass)

anyway really good for your first bomber, I may be using it as inspiration later :P

Do you have a tutorial?

No, sorry. I built it a long time ago and I don't remember exactly how I make the inside of this bot. But you can try making your own version with the screenshots ;)

Gotta say, probably the most aesthetically pleasing bomber I've seen in carbon yet! :D

Thank you. I'm trying to make bots that works pretty well, but Have a beautiful appearance. This is not as powerfull as a fully plated bomber but it work pretty well. And maybe Freejam will increase the rudders/aerofoil HP in the future :)

I'm worried about the front two rudders, for the sole fact that they generate tons of lift (Whatever it is that makes your plane turn well). If one of them gets torn off, then your plane will get horribly unbalanced .-.
Does look cool though.

It fly with the 4 front rudders destroyed, it's just very slow to turn. (the front looks massive, but it's very light)
My main problem is the aerofoils, with 2 destroyed on the same side it's very hard to control, and with the 3 I can't fly. The flyers physics is strange, the rear/front balance is way less punitive than the left/right balance.

I added a screenshot to let you see what it look like while damaged. The external chassis is connected to the main chassis (the center with the pilote seat) under the EP. The aerofoils and rudders are connected to main chassis with rods and the thrusters are connected to the external chassis.

1 rail=10%? that's not good. U should try triforcing it too. Or slap on some good ol electroplates!

also use rudders instead of aerofoils, they might have a bit less lift but are smaller and have better maneuverability.
:)

I can increase the HP, but if I remove the rods 1 rail shot can remove the 3 aerofoil on the same side, and I fall :P. It's too much triforced I think, but it can go back to base to repair after taking 6 rail shot. all aerofoil/rudder is connected to 2/3 rods before connected to the chassis.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
