(Aura) Blast From The Past

Rail Tank added 4 months ago

Hoo boi.
So this is an old idea that is two years too late in the making. This artbot is a bit of a tribute to an ancient build of mine that had to be deleted back in the days of Team Orders and CPU caps shudders. So quite frankly, I wasn't too happy about losing this design. It served me little to no purpose in game, but, it was probably the coolest thing I'd ever made at that point in my RC career (and still is, outside of my two mega designs.)
Now, after all this time, I can proudly say that my trophy build is back and safely stored in my garage again. Plus, it looks a little cooler too. The colors have a bit more contrast, the shape is a little smoother, the eyes are much, much more detailed (GOD THOSE T8 BLOCKS WERE BAD AT BEING RED), and the appendages on the back of the head are slightly nastier too. Plus, it now comes with special effects on the hands. Special effects for ONLY $9.99!
So yeah. That's why this is rebuilt and sitting on your screen now. Plus, it's so I can hopefully get No. 448 back on the front page again. Cause why not.

Fantastic work on the posture

Thank you! It's heavily inspired from the posture of the first iteration of the design, while also referencing some of his Sm4sh poses at the same time. The arms and hip to leg areas were a massive pain to pull off, and I couldn't get them quite the way I wanted, but it's good to know that it still looks solid overall.

And with that, I've actually gone and done it! Insect legs work on the design and shave off about 150 CPU, making this much more viable. I still have to fit a hover so that this won't sway so much, but still, progress!

Yeah, it isn't as fun to take out and actually use, as treads aren't quite stable but they still are the best form of movement as of now. I will be experimenting with insect legs to try and improve stabilization so that I can use this now and then, but for now it only serves trophy purposes. But thanks for stopping by!

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.
