"Vortex" Hybrid gunships

Plasma Copter added 7 months ago

Two rotor-hover hybrid gunships designed for "old but gold " brawl, which are also good in other game mode.

Two prototypes were built with different lay out of rotors. The first one with 3 small rotors installed, has smaller profile but suffer from stability issues. The second one back to 4 rotor placement like Baal IV mk1, which is more stable than previous one. ps: the table issue is based on keyboard control, in camera mode both prototypes are fine.

Talking about control mode, I recommend use Vortex B with keyboard control, because most thrusters are set to push it to forward, which means turn and move forward is best way to use its mobility. Keyboard control will allow player to do this movement and shoot in 360 degree at same time.

These bots have good acceleration and speed in horizontal move but lack of mobility in vertical move. Fly in open is not a save way to use it, use terrain for protection is advised. The armor won't protect them from more than 2-3 rail shots. They are fragile bots, however because the form, front and rear have better durability, where usually the rail shot comes from, but don't expose the up and bottom sides.

Vortex A (prototype 1)

Total health 1,516,639
Total mass 3,141
Weapon energy 15,610
Robot cpu 1,210

Vortex B (prototype 2)

Total health 1,611,143
Total mass 3,247
Weapon energy 14,882
Robot cpu 1,296

Both are in CRF, search author: ed209mk2 , use Vortex A with camera relative tilt control , Vortex B can be used in both keyboard and camera control.

Great looking bot, well balanced (weapons/energy) fights like a beast. That's a 10 in my book. I was wondering how it was going to react the way the rotors are on there when I first saw it, but it holds up Very Well even with a rotor missing.
Very Nice! btw how many flops is that?

Have no idea of the number of component, is this information useful?

Well, I just should have said "cpu" (it's the total number of flops) same same.. The only time "flop" count is really useful is when you're trying to squeeze pieces on to a bot without enough cpu to get everything on that you want, then you can make adjustments accordingly. Each piece has a value which totals your cpu. Anyways, again great bot.

I thought you mean the actual number of the component, otherwise the cpu loads is in the description above, maybe have a look again :)

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
