Practical Robot

The Carbon tax

SMG Hover added 2 years ago

Heavy triforced hover

-11 gun redundancy
-13 hover redundancy
-thruster, radar, and jammer for stealth and speed
-prism sheet 1 thick at front and 2 thick above core
-750 chassis
-good gun clearance

After about 5 remakes with me being unsatisfied with the shape and functionality of my smg hover i came up with this. It has triforce sheeting on the entirety of the top and bottom face of the bot, with the connections to the core being hidden behind the nose of the bot. The t10.1 Ep covers the head of the pilot and for some reason appeals to me aesthetically :P. Constructive criticism is appreciated !

13 hovers,13 hovers,13 hovers,13 hovers, 13 frickin' hovers!

10/10 fpr redundancy
Btw u do no that they have diminishing returns after 6/8 hovers, so u should basically have a speed of 8/9 hovers.

Nice shape do

i have found that around 11 hovers is the sweet spot for super heavy hovers, especially when you aren't overclocked for that extra speed. Also the extra hovers i used give the back end a bit more lift, making the guns have better clearance at close range :)

oh, i manage that with 5 hovers :P
(Ps my builds are lightweight and ep reliant, thats why they take so less hovers
ps- slight rise in fuctionality rating

Haha yeah those carbon guns aren't cheap :P

you could of course place normal ones.

I wouldn't use more hovers than guns. Having more guns actually helps surviving against multiple enemies and when all of your guns are gone, all of those hovers don't do you any good against armed opponents.

But its your build and you don't have to listen to us whiners :P hehe.

oh btw make a glass or tier 10 fake pilot seat protection on the front of your ship. I think the guns will allow it to place 1 prism up front, 2 tetra and 2 prisms. You have the cpu for it :P hehe

but a fake pilot seat will ruin the aesthetic Dx. my ocd will not allow for non-carbon in the carbon tax

The T10.1 EP appeals to my OCD....

Functionality: Great gun clearance, design, but the T10.1 EP is also kinda a dead giveaway on the location of your pilot seat. Also, it will have trouble with shooting behind, as the radar blocks one of your top SMGs. What's the top speed on this? It doesn't look very fast.

Creativity: I think the overall shape looks pretty good, but (my own preference) I don't like flat surfaces. The EP bothers me a lot, since it's not "straight". It's not perfectly aligned because it can only be a right or a left AND IT BOTHERS ME SO MUCH JDSLKFJL:SDJFL:KDJSLFJDSL: :<.

Overall Score:
Functionality: 9/10
Creativity: 7.5/10

Thanks for the rating dude :) I tend to avoid shooting behind me. Your right about the pilot position giveaway, but enemies still have to shoot through a prism sheet and the core to reach it anyway :P. I might change the EP out for more armor later when the ocd gets the best of me :P

Looks pretty good, but 13 hovers is a bit much man :P

That cpu could have been used on more guns.

I could only afford 11 carbon guns :P. I have found that i really do need the large amount of hovers to get decent speeds and for redundancy. I tend to go head first into battle and then need to scamper off as i'm about to die. If i wanted to add more guns then i would just get rid of the jammer and radar. Thanks for the feedback :)

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
