“Baal V" ION copter

Ion Copter added 9 months ago

This design took a little bit more effort to finish, three prototypes were built, and thanks for Zalera's example"-Exhumed Harbinger-", which becomes the main concept of this bot.

Initial layout was parallel placed megahovers, after several failed try, I found out its almost impossible to prevent it from fliping frequently. The problem is causing by the kickback force from firing ion, when this force is away from center of mass the bot will tend to flip by it.

The final layout placed ions at almost same line of CoM, make it much more stable when firing.

The other design focus is to limit its weight under 6 tons, so the bot won't exceed the carry limit of two megahover. The reason not to add more smaller hovers is because they will dramatically lower the highest speed (from 200 to 170).

Total health 1,425,386
Total mass 6,068
Weapon energy 12,109
Robot cpu 1,663

edited 1: suggested by Zalera, made some modifications to reinforce connections of IND

edited 2: added two pics of the placement of thrusters, in case you find the acceleration is not enough.

Well, another cool design from you.

About the Battle rating, it's pretty agile, tanky and seems well balanced for a copter with mega hovers.
It seems that you loose your guns quickly if the enemy deals you zone damages like IND / Flak / plasma.
But it seems that your movement parts are lasting long enough to save you from death too.

Finally that's a good glass canon you've got there, perfect for an alpha strike imo ! ^^

Thanks for the rating and inspiration Zalera, so glad you are back to RC :D

The mount points of IND could be reinforced a little stronger to prevent AOE damage removing IND.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting
