Optimus Prime - Robot Mode (War for Cybertron)

SMG Megabot added 2 years ago

Success! My first ever Megabot :D

It should come to no surprise that my first one will be that of Optimus Prime (taking into account my previous entries) and this particular one is based on his design from the game Transformers War for Cybertron.

It took me a while to acquire enough RP to get the parts I wanted to make the build (Mega Wheels and Mega Legs) and after a few hours of farming, I caved in and merely bought the Mega SMGs with GC. Admittedly, it meant that I get to use the cool sleek versions of the Mega SMG so I'm not too fussed about it. I also get to support the devs which is always a plus.

Farming woes aside, it took me more than a couple of iterations to get his proportions to look just right. There were times when his chest was too wide, his arms were too long or his arms too big. There was also a time when, while building this, the proportions he turned out with made him look like a gorilla which I was very unsatisfied with. Thankfully enough, I was able to get him to the size and proportions I wanted him to be.

I initially thought I would only be able to fit 6 guns on him so I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to fit 2 more which was very good for the bot in terms of performance. I think there are probably ways so I can make the weapon placements look a little more 'organic' as opposed to simply attached onto him but for now, I'm satisfied with the way it looks.

Another thing that took me a while to make was the inscribed/engraved Autobot symbol on his back. I had to delete one of my existing bots to make room for a bay just so I can experiment on making that particular face. At the end of it, I think I was able to make a pretty recognizable Autobot symbol with the size constrictions I was given.

One last really cool thing I love about this build is that the mega-module is sitting comfortably within his chest cavity which makes it a very good make-shift Matrix of Leadership, or at least a proxy for it anyway xP.

Have you tried to make the mega module stick out a bit? like slightly visible for a glowy effect?

Best take I have seen on recreating a transformer. Gorgeous detail, clever addition of the wheels, and truck based framework are the best that I have seen together, and throwing on 8 guns just makes it even better. Awesome job!

Once again a very nice Robot from you mate. I wanna see 10/10 instead of 9.9/10 :)

Btw LePrimeMehster I think you missed the -Harvenger- (Scavenger)... But once again, the dark side called me and I didn't make an autobot... but a decepticon... :/

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
