Toxic Emissary - |Cronn| Elite Scout Flyer

Rail Flier added 1 year ago

This is part one of my next series of bots, alternating between Cronn (alien attackers) and either E14 or CF Alliance defenders. Toxic Emissary is a walker/flyer sniper, with a choice of SMG or plasma for secondary armament.

Since the rudders are very important to the integrity of the bot, I tri-forced all the connections to create a ‘core’ similar to some of my previous designs. The armor is built to be a shell around the thrusters and rudders. When the outer armor is taken off, the core containing around 6-7 thrusters and 6 rudders is left, with maneuverability equal to that of a pure flyer. I had a screenshot to show this, but it unfortunately refused to upload :(. With the shell on, it flies a bit slow, but has enough speed and agility to pull off a few nice acrobatics when avoiding enemy fire. It is also stable enough in flight to fire its railguns while on the move, decreasing the time it needs to land and lock onto a target.

For firepower it mainly relies on railguns to do the job, but three mid-ranked guns can be mounted under the nose to provide secondary guns for bombing or finishing off opponents. It does not have a lot of big damage dealing weapons, but it makes up for this by being able to sustain fire for longer periods of time.

Storyline:
After panicked comms were picked up from a E14 salvage team on Gliese Lake, all other units on the planet were immediately put on alert and told to fortify their positions the best they could. With little idea of who or what they were facing, crews began to dig in at the vital Spitzer Dam. Veteran platoons were also rushed to reinforce the defenses. Amid these preparations, however, a pair of Cronn swarm ships blinked into Spitzer Dam’s airspace and began to launch strong probing assaults to test E14’s half completed and weak defenses. After days of fighting, the Cronn swarms finally broke through and captured the dam. Veteran platoons arrived too late to save the garrison, so they launched a furious counterattack to try to recapture the dam. They soon withdrew when news arrived of other attacks on emplacements across the planet, some of them on CF forces instead of E14. All units are now being based on Mars as negotiations start between CF Alliance and E14 to try to work together to stop the Cronn.

If you have any questions or comments about Toxic Emissary, feel free to toss them in the comments below. I hope you guys enjoyed this bot, and stay tuned for more :)

Pros:
- Very mobile.
- Long survivability due to extensive tri-forcing.
- Able to sustain fire for long periods of time.

Cons:
- Does not fare well in close combat.
- Rudder tri-forcing fares poorly against missiles.
- Can be outmaneuvered by faster builds.

This bot is available on the CRF for forging, minus all the expensive cosmetics. Find it by searching Toxic Emissary in the search bar.

Good build, would benefit from a few front mounted plasma though, especially with your aggressive playstyle.

The three SMG's on the bottom can be swapped out for three plasma's. Can't give a ton of firepower, but it can give it some better air-to-ground capabilities. I gotta say though, this is no artbot. Practicality rating?

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
