-Aftermath-

Plasma Copter added 5 months ago

Hi everyone,

Here is my last creation, breaking the limits of old Megabots... Yeah a flying Megabot ^^ !

Functional parts :

- 2 flak rare
- 3 SMG legendary
- 15 plasma epic
- 5 propeller epic
- 6 rotor epic
- 1 rotor rare
- 8 hover epic
- 2 thruster epic
- 1 blink module
- 1 EMP module

This thing can fly with only 1 back rotor left, thanks to the propellers, and easily move near the ground, thanks to the hovers ^^

Yeah, it can fly with 2 propellers and 1 rotor, but well, redundancy masterrace

I've been seeing a lot of those designs using rotors for extra lift. Quite interesting. Well done. (Whats the health booster on it?)

Well Megas are back, So I've decided to take a peek and see how things are going :) (but that custom games thing kinda sucks). And it's bloody expensive to build a mega now. I feel bad for new players.

The main problem with megabots is the health boost in my opinion... some players have 300% boost health... this means 6000HP per cube... and 400k HP per gun.. and mechs... have 1.5MHP by legs...

The proppellers seem to be to high placed i think its possible to bring them down 1 block then top marks ^^

Very well made, as usual.

I approve of the way you use the wide but flat body to easily fit a number of guns and movement systems; it must also allow hiding in cover easier.
Your guns are mostly front facing, so excellent clearance, Plasma for close and Smgs for chipping. Very Nice.
You've listed hovers as movement but I don't see any so nice job of hiding them. It pains me to see that you need so many propellers just to get that thing in the air.

All in all, aesthetically pleasing and seemingly very functional.

Well, thank you for ratings on the first plan, about the propellers I only need 2, but you know... redundancy is kinda needed on copters :/

PS : We intercepted a transmission that a huge flying robot is getting close to our base...

More Copters in the collection. For some reason I thought of Mega Reapers copters or maybe Aftermath is already there for that.

The carrying mass of rotors must be biting you, to have to rely on propellers for flight.

Mega drones are not coming back... Too fragile.

Also, they're a very nice, large target for certain guns.

Yeah drone are supposed to be small and hard to shoot, mega drones would really be pointless ^^
The thing is that 1 rotor can carry 3000kg, so I would more or less need 10 rotors, tho, diminishing return would make me lose lift power the more I add rotors... then I decided to switch for propellers, that also gives me lift and diving boost speed :)

Well, the middle section of the bot is kinda thick, but the sides are thin, hard to get it on screenshots ikr ^^

Taking the screenshots oh god plz XD

Looks nice but yeah the body is a bit plain, could you have moved the middle rotor back a bit to make more of a triangle as oppose to a line? It still looks like you could move it slightly further back?

About the triangle shape, I decided to keep the whole bot as a triangle (from the nose to the back) so moving the rotor back would have done a weird lozenge shape :/
Spacecam
Maybe the side rotors? To keep the triangle shape and make the back look a bit better?

Don't forget this is a cotper, making it bigger would make it more easily killable... also adding too many rotors would decrease their efficiency... considering the size, effectiveness etc I don't want to lose rotors too fast so I put them close to the chassis, but tried to keep the triangle ^^

Talk about a flying gunship, man that thing is big. I wondered why other people weren't trying propellers on flying designs, and I was too poor to test it myself, but it's good to see that this actually works! I love the color selection and distribution, except for the front of the design. I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve there, whether it be a paint stripe or some sort of eye, but I would have either made that little detail out of glass or kept the singular offset stripe and drawn it across the length of the design, leaving only secondary details with original paint. Otherwise, the frame is fascinating and doesn't lack details in any aspects of the design. Just curious on one thing however, how does this fly? Is it more reactive and less stabilized due to the number of propellers? Or does it handle the same as any other heavy copter, just with more lifting power?

Well well well, how does it fly, I have to say this isn't easy to control, and mostly because of the weight. With rotors only it would slowly reach the ground so you often have to trigger the propellers to keep your altitude.

Also, these propellers allow you to always adjust the angle of the copter to protect the rotors, and if you keep pressing it you can put your bot on a vertical axis and climb pretty fast with hover, faster than what a classic copter would be able to do ^^

As crazy as it is, with 30tons it can fly with only 3 propellers and 1 rotor to stabilize the flight (or it would flip like carzy), so it has pretty good survivability compared to any other copter of its size ^^

And finally about the front of the design, I wanted to keep a base I had on another copter and make the classic "eye" I ussually do, but not with glass to change a bit my shapes, that way I decided to use the feared EMP as an eye, kinda looks like the face expression is "I'm too old for this..." imo ahah ^^'

Well thank you for ratings as alway :)

As crazy as it is, this is my best Megabot so far, this is why I don't sell it yet ^^'
Relative tilt allows you to adjust the angle of the bot, and never expose your rotors, even if it's tricky to pilot :)

Also, 1 rotor and 3 propellers are enough to fly, since it's pretty light and propellers pretty strong ^^

Nope, it wasn't the same, it was another version of it, worse looking and less effective, with random rotors and propellers placement... like an alpha test to see if a mega copter would be viable ^^'

I noticed too, i found strange how the EMP wasnt on the face xD

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
