Chomp [D]

Tesla Flier added 1 year ago

This is the medic build that I currently use in the meta, it's actually quite fun to play with, since you have the option to both attack with tesla and heal your team with nanos.

This bot boasts a high amount of mobility, this makes it perfect as a medic as you can freely get to the teammates that need help the most, the mobility can also allow it to stealth attack and capture towers on the fly.

The bot is triforced around the outside and in the middle, this allow the bot to survive as long as possible in battle, but also allows it to be able to escape at low percents. Despite it's relatively low health, it is still able to tank a lot and stay completely functional.

Any criticism is much appreciated, cheers! ^^

No need to put it on the back, as that is quite a useless position in terms of my play style. Refer to the comment below this one as to why it's on the top.

Why the tesla on top?

It serves no purpose but to attract people's attention and use up your pFlops. I mean, no bomber is going to LAND on you, nor will you take flight and ram them in mid-air, so why bother? Use the space and pFlops on another nano, maybe...

The tesla on the top actually has it's uses:

- Hovers are generally just above you when you are on the ground, so you can go under them and lift, this can result in a lot of one shots as the underside is generally a hovers weak point.

- It also serves the purpose of a counter when another tesla bot is right above your pilot, because with that tesla blade there, the only place where they can hit you safely is at the back, And this bot can turn very fast.

I hope that answers your question. ^^

Let me refute your OBJECTION!s one by one.

- Question: How many hovers do you see that are at their FULL hover height? Being a hover pilot yourself I don't see the need to remind you that hovers are at their wobbliest when going over any sort of terrain that isn't flat... wait I just did that :P
Besides, you are a MEDIC. How many times will you have a hover going ON TOP of you? If that happens, your team is most likely dead or dying, and you will be too.

- Second point: It's true that tesla bots DO target medics and the occasional mega, but the ONLY ones that do are fully armed tesla balls (Is it called that in high tiers? I have no clue) Anyway, you've seen the power one of those red balls pack. It's enough to fully cripple a full CPU megabot, if not even instakill. Need I say more?
Also, the teslas are also cubes. Even if one of those rounded menaces decides to land on you, your own top tesla won't do anything to slow or stop your demise. It's just going to remove up to 3 of the enemy's tesla blades, max. Then you're dead.

Sorry if the comment was harsh or too long, but it's all true.

If I was a hover bot going against a tesla bot, I would lift to full height to reduce the odds of being hit, the blade on top counters that action

And in terms of countering another tesla bot, it will probably hurt, a lot... But at least I will have done some damage back.

This bot is optimized for Battle Mode not Team Deathmatch, and don't you worry, I'm fine with your objections, it's criticism like this that makes us better engineers.

I've been in a game some time ago. There was team of some Japanese guys with 3 bots based on similar design philosophy. They were charging like crazy, ramming everyone with teslas while at the same time maintaining healing triangle and replenishing blades and healing themselves. It was bordering on exploit (bad matchmaking in that particular situation), but at the same time it was unbelievably effective

Yeah, when it comes to those situations, the usual small tesla medic you see wouldn't work. This is like a beefed up version.

This is an alternate variant of my SMG sled, they are both very similar.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".

When should I vote a comment as constructive though?

  1. friendly?

Why do one want these points?

After receiving about 100 total amount of votes the user will get a chance of being promoted to "Approved Reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Approved Reviewer?

As an approved reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Approved reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Ok, got it! I want to place my vote now.
