Mega Plasma Launcher: POMFplosion =3

General Robot added 1 year ago

I started to buy more mega plasma launchers, I had fear that their cooldown between every shot was kinda long and the fact that the damage wasn't that great, sadly nothing beat a pro smg :v

Plasma launcher users really need more attention in the game play style :(

8 Plasma Launcher
2 Mecha legs
Sides reinforced with the cubes armor
Front reinforced with several aerorods + cubes
2 "cosmetic" gatlin guns in the frontal part (previous bots inspired me)

Very pretty design. The Carbon cube detailing is very good. Overall, very solid looking build.

You are right about Mega Plasmas too. Playing as plasma mega is a whole different ballgame than SMG. With the plasmas, you will usually end up in more of a support role in TDM matches, adding burst damage to your team. While a MegaSMG may be at the front lines of the battle, applying constant pressure to the enemies.

It takes a bit of practice to get used to. You'll find that a hit-and-run tactic often works best while using Mega Plasmas, especially against Mega SMGs. If you stay out of cover for too long, the enemy SMG will quickly remove all of your guns.

While every match is different, I'll tell you what works best for me, most of the time. I usually hang back, find a good place to defend. When I spot the enemy mega, i pop out of cover and hit him with plasma. I repeat this a couple of times, ducking behind cover between shots. While doing this, I watch the enemy team. If the enemy mega hides behind cover, I'll shoot some plasma at one of his support bots (Usually a sniper. Snipers will remove your guns quickly too) to apply pressure to them. Once I notice the enemy mega's EPs are grey, I know they will quickly be overwhelmed and removed. At this point, I assess my team. If my team is healthy, I'll rush the enemy.

I apologize for the rambling post. I just noticed in the robot description that you just bought your mega plasmas and wanted to share some pointers. You have a fantastic robot here and I look forward to seeing more in the future.
