Cosmega Collection

Plasma Bomber added 4 months ago

Was 6 months really the last time I uploaded something?

lol

Anyway, yeah it's as the name suggests a bunch of cosmegas, idk I have made a few lately.

All can Vtol and are pretty much a block/rod core with a large rod skeleton connecting all the masks, kinda wish more than like four trails would show up on other user's ends.

If you're wondering were I got the names from
Phacellophora
Siphonophorae
Xantusii

That is all, enjoy.

I will never understand how one goes through the process of building one of these flying cosmegas. I've tried it several times and every time, I end up using more chassis than cosmetics. Anyway, if I could give you a 30 in creative, I would, but 1/3 of that will have to do. I wish more color could be used, but considering how fickle cosmetics can be with paint, I think that your light use of green was a smart move, at least on Phacellophora. I think all black was the correct move on the other two designs. I love the placement of the bat(?) ears on Xantusii on the back wings! They really bring the widening yet aerodynamic frame to a smooth close. Awesome work here!

I'm sure everyone who makes these has their own way of making them, but I can give you some tips on how I make mine.

So I get a general shape of what I want (via google or whatever) then work from the front to back placing the wings and masks that I think look nice. Place the wings first then work around the wings and make it with as little blocks as possible (don't worry about having a super fragile bot this will be covered in the last paragraph)

This may seem pretty "standard" for building in general but moving masks around and deleting or replacing ones may give a better shape than what you first had, also don't forget to place the same mask on different faces of the same block. This part usually takes the longest as your trying to find places for masks, fitting them over wings, etc.

Some of my "favorites" for nice shapes, smooth edges or "compact" repeatable patterns are the Alienware ear, pretty much the whole sabre mask, cockpit mid (this makes a really nice engine look with flags), and the scary mask horn is pretty useful too.

If you can get through that the rest is easy, so basically delete all the blocks but keep the masks and components, this is when you can reinforce the bot, make a core connecting all the wings and guns/thrusters if you want, then connect all the masks trying to use as many rods as you can to keep the mass low, afterwards you may have some left over CPU which you can use for more masks, etc etc.

Well this wall of text isn't perfect but I hope it can help start you off, and don't forget to save your bot~ XD

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
