"Mindwipe" Jump Plasma Mech

Plasma Mech added 5 months ago

After played some games with a modified Blowpipe, I found a plasma prop mech is really fun to play. It can act like a bomber when attack, give more accuracy to plasma, and be able to jump on to any where is huge in some maps. I often finished some enemies by jumping on high places where they were waiting for auto heal and a jammer is very useful in this case.

The stability of jumping has been carefully tuned. Unstable and flip is unavoidable when exiting jump mode and entering flying mode but it can be controled after some practicing.

Two types of jump and control tips:

Forward jump will make the bot lean forward, this is used for fast forward jump with lower height, the lean forward movement will help any following jump keep advancing forward fast and without short freezing time like normal sprinter mech does.

When vertical jump, the bot will lean backward after entering flying mode, you can then press forward to prevent it from lean backward.

Watching the vid on this page to have some examples on how to use these jumps.

Great job my dear friend ed. i will spend some time doday trying to master the middair control following the instructions you wrote. Yes you can deny healing (you did it to me in Vanguard's End map when i was playing as a railer on top of the ship). If you put nanos (and used them) i would give you 12/10 :P Dont get mad hahaha Good Good job keep working!!

When I found a same bot could both lean forward and backward when jump, I knew that a pure self stable prop mech is impossible to make . So Instead making a prefect balanced bot, I try to give ways to control it better. Lean forward is actually good for next advancing jump, especially when the forward jump is low enough that before it result a flip the bot has already touched ground and makes next jump. Vertical jump also can be controlled by pushing forward when it begin flying mode. The only bad jump for this mech is jump backward, which will result a flip quickly after in flying mode.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
