"Venom" ION Mech

Ion Mech added 8 months ago

After intensive play with BA2.0, I see some more fixed builds in Meta, the megahover ION mech is surely one of them. Although the concept is too ugly to use, but the idea to use hover as backup movement is a useful option, since plasma drones are now a very common Meta build and even 3 legs mech are fragile to plasma bombing from low CPU bot.

The draw back of hover sprinter hybrid is that if the carry limit of hovers lower than the whole bot weight, the top speed will be reduced,in this case lots of cpu needs to be spent on enough hovers.

To over come this , 4mega hovers is an obvious choice; but there is another way: a back side propeller to give enough push power to force bot go faster.

The top speed of this mech is 160+ compare to normal sprinter 170+, which is acceptable for me. Three hovers cost 84 cpu is also a good trade to have a secondary movement when legs down.

A escape pod has been installed in this bot, which increase its survivability.

ps: there is also a prototype: Robo139 , which you can see in my youtube channel, which has upward propeller to help jump.

Total health 1,549,856
Total mass 10,562
Weapon energy 12,417
Robot cpu 1,619

pps: the vid has some trouble, will reupload when youtube back to normal.

Mmm, have fought it with my own bot, its nice and all but a little too thin and kinda easy to split.

Ty for rating :)

HP wise its basically the same as rumble III mk2 http://robocraftgarage.com/robot/aiJTXZ18

And toughness is not the only factor to judge a bot.

Looks kinda fragile to palsma, but pretty agile, so no wonder you can dodge these ^^

Thx for rating :) I find the situation is when you fight against ION, who ever lose two IONs will lose, and when fight against air plasma, whenever legs are gone its over. In both case HP won't matter too much, because the HP of ION and sprinter leg is fixed. All solutions are basing on reason above, so I will take blink, instead of 300 cpu armor; I will take third leg or prop+hover instead of 100-200 cpu armor. Its fragile against other stuff like SMG, but its up to the pilot skill to avoid its weakness.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
