The Phantom Strike GT

SMG Drone added 3 months ago

For years (yes literal years) The Phantom Strike was a shielded hover brawler, well suited for most any opponent. However due to the rise in heavy alpha strike weapons, such as mortar ions and chain weapons shields quickly became useless for a brawler (for now at least I know that cluly wants to rework shields a bit) So seeing as such, I've converted it into a unique bot. Inspired by roll rockets, T-Sticks and keyboard drones I created the latest in phantom technology. BEHOLD! The Phantom Strike GT, king of shield spam! And no, my phantoms are not will not and never will be on the CRF unless they allow me to set my own price.

Would be better if camera was shaking a bit more :P

But seriously, it would be nice to get some garage screens as well, at least to see the stats and get a closer look on the construction. I can't say much without it other than that it looks quite nice ;)

...The first like, 12 seconds was garage footage where you can see the stats, construction, ect. However, basing a bot off these "boost" systems or stats would be a foolish method. It's best to compare how a bot performs, especially how it takes damage and how well it performs when heavily damaged. Some of my bots have higher stats in EVERY aspect, but thanks to things like triforcing they often fall behind compared to more well engineered designs. Something like the Phantom however, is skill based to the extreme which is the reason I didn't upload it to the CRF. The larger variant of shields are quite underpowered, compared to something like cube spam. However in a design such as the Phantom, it's agility and ability to perform complex maneuvers allow it to control where it takes damage by positioning itself accordingly, hints the large skill requirement. At the end of the day, this is a artbot tesseract. Two things that don't usually mix, but can create fascinating results in rare occasions. I'd say it's impractical for the average player, due to the difficulty of piloting and the need for very strategic aim due to the high CPU. But it's ability to perform flips, and various maneuvers that neither planes, copters, or strafe drones can perform make it a gem of a bot for piloting enthusiasts and lovers of shield spam.

Doubt I'll get around to it, but for reference it's just a standard T-Stick style frame with vertical bottom rudders for the ability to roll. You could pretty easily take any T-Stick and slap some vertical rudders for the same effect.

Ok, thank you! I will try to do that whenever I get the chance also have not built something like this in a loooong while. So it will be interesting. Forgot to say also I looks amazing!

Edit: I'm just wondering now how long did it take you to build this?

Well depends how you ask the question, considering the original version was a hover and slowly evolved into this it's been about 2 years of building this fine bot. But this version, specifically took a couple hours especially triforcing the shields and working damage sinks properly so that it's actually competitively viable.

Oh yea one more thing you said you won't be uploading the bot until you can choose the price. Why is that?

I wouldn't sell it for less than 1m robits, I would never sell it for the same price as the average brick.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
