Demi-Goddess of Death Rory Mercury

Plasma Mech added 2 years ago

So I'm a huge fan of the Gate anime and Rory is definitely my favorite character in it. I also recently really liked playing plasma mech. Combine the two and this is what I built. I haven't taken it out to battle yet, so I don't know its effectiveness, but from an aesthetic standpoint, I think this turned out almost perfect. I couldn't make the full arms cuz of the CPU limit, and think it might be possible to make the eyes better but I don't know how.

I opted for 7 guns because I always want some extra guns since they always get shot off really easily. I think the plasma on the arms make those stubs look a lot better than normal. I put a single hover on the inside so i could jump to make the bot go a little faster. The inside is also completely hollow, with only 1 armor of layer in most places and at most 2 layers of armor at very specific spots.

I haven't really built any mech bots myself let alone plasma bots, so this is essentially my first time building an art mech bot. I honestly really hoped that I would be able to make her halberd but that wasn't possible :(

Edit: okay so because some of you guys says she's too fat, I trimmed her down by 1 block on both sides, and she definitely looks better now. I'm not going to update the photos because the change is really small and I'm too lazy :P

Edit edit: i just updated with a newer slimmer version

Combat update: when used right, this thing does massive damage (plasmas of course). The main problems i see right now is that since the waist is so thin, it's very easy for flak or rails to literally rip the bot in half the waist down and at that point, it'll have maybe 3 or 2 plasmas left. The plasmas on either side of the skirt aren't easy to use since the slightest movement to the sides will cause one of them to not hit their target. the best tactic I've seen for maximum damage is to jump above a target since the gun positions allow for all the plasma to hit the target really easily.

Ah yes, the temptress has found herself a new frontier to mess around in.^^ (Rory op plz nerf)
Looks good there, mate. :) All the frilly details cme out very well.^^

Oh as for the eyes, i myself have had pretty good results with either rounded cubes or with helium blocks, those can make for neat eyes when done right.^^

Here's some examples. They're not the most competitive bots, but aesthetics-wise they might prove as useful reference.^^

If you're looking for eyelashes, black curved tetra's might do the trick.^^

9,5 cause this is awesome, cause I love this anime too, but she look a bit packed.

Then 8,5 cause 7 plasmas isn't that bad, but they are all close from each other at weak points.

Ty for this amazing bot :D

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
