Expensive Sammich!

Plasma Hover added 3 years ago

I present the improved version of my Cheap Sammich!
http://robocraftgarage.com/b/cheap-sammich

Much stronger, more stable and really sexy

As I unlocked the Mega Plates I redesigned the whole thing to fit under them to remain as flat as possible. From now on, all changes will be minor and mostly just switching black cubes for Tx-1 ones.

It has 5 hovers, the front one positioned slightly higher to make flipping harder and balance the nose upwards better when climbing (when hovering on normal terrain it's all balanced, no upwards nose).

Removed the frontal plates to add another tesla as I hardly ever get hit there and I find that extra firepower very useful, changed the side and back plates to allow better gun clearance as well as stability.

6 Plasmas for max DPS are enough for me, could be easily adapted to wield more with my current black/Tx-1 cubes ratio. (CPU would probably be maxed if all were Tx-1).

T9 and T7 jammers should provide enough stealth to backstab the enemy team.

Same steering thrusters as my old design.

Decided to use 2 T8 thrusters and a T6 one for forward thrust since T10 ones are huge and would be too visible.

This time listed as multipurpose as the extra defense allows me to hover over medics to cover them from bomber's fire -this bot never got one-shot and is really fast to heal- and the low-profile sleek build has proven to be extremely annoying to megabots without side guns. Tesla-ramming from behind is also easier and more powerful with this version though don't expect many people to die with a single hug.

It certainly won't be scariest and most powerful robot in a match, but it packs one hell of a punch and is FUN to use!

*Disclaimer: credits to Oilspill for using something like that first, as mentioned on the first link.
**cube counts are estimates, I'll check later

Added two screenshots. The design changed a little from the original since the hovers nerf but if you need more CPU just use black cubes instead of the TX-1 ones.

With smgs it can be very annoying to megas if you can get right next to them, their SMGs are usually placed too high to reach you. (just please don't do that when the whole team is alive)

I only have 1171 cpu/pflops so I might not build this thing for a while trying to find a nice t10 smg/medic hover under 1171 cpu that will work for both

You can get rid of one of the guns but that's pretty much all you can do without losing useful stuff.

If it's this style what you wanted, you can always try this cheaper and more lower level friendly version: cheap sammich

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
