Starfire

Medic Flier added 4 months ago

Y'all remember Rosefall's old Starfire right? CUS IT'S BACK!
Kept as close to the original design as possible without going to see the video. WARNING: the copter blades counteract most of the VTOL function from the wings so vertical takeoff is quite slow. On the other hand it it quite fast, agile and is perfectly stable while hovering in position in midair. Wanting a new medic plane I did not make it overly tanky but in exchange for energy you can easily replace blocks with the TX-1 variant. On the CRF, ENJOY! :) I do not claim this build as my own; all credits go to Rosefall. I uploaded it because I wanted to share one of Rosefall's most iconic builds. It might not have had the glory of the Paladin series but it was a unique and original build, one of the first VTOLs and, unlike Paladins or Tiger Beetles I haven't seen this design in battle in a couple of years and so I decided to rebuild it, upload it here and on the CRF to remind new players of it.

But planes have VTOL now, why do you need to add rotors?

1) Not a huge fan of the way fliers control now and the rotor counterbalance some of the effects.
2) Not being overly tanky I decided to make it a medic and I find that being able to hover in position above your target while hiding behind a rock without having to continuously adjust your position.
All clear now? :)

Ok, but why did you need to upload it, it's not yours even if it is that old ._.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.
