"Dog"- competitive front line mech

SMG Mech added 1 year ago

Mixture of spider leg and walker leg, so it can climb hills where walker can not, but remain the advantages of walker leg. An additional benefit: its top speed raised from 70 mph to 80 mph (don't know how but it appears so) The legs also angle the torso so lasers on its back will have better rotating range.

You can buy the chassis in game market(Search author name "ED209mk2"), and follow the picture of instruction in this post to install the rest components.

Btw. voting 8.0 for practical, because shields are more useless than lights currently, guns don't seem to be trifoced either.

8.5 for creativity, nothing much is outstandingly fancy, altough I do like the mixture of the colours.

I thought shield is more efficient at blocking plasma ?
Kowalski799

It was, until plasmas and rails got buffed a lot.
Now not even the strongest T-10 is able to withstand a SINGLE railshot,it's gets blown off instantly and gets two shot by plasmas. The high-tier electroplates have bad armour/cpu rating (42,000 armour/56 cpu=750 armour/cpu ratio,a normal block has 1,100+/each block)
Even smaller blocks, like slopes have more armour, meaning that shields are both heavier and have lesser armour compared to slopes.

Thx for the math. However I am really not sure about the explosive mechanism in robocraft. If its like in many other games, every block in range of a explosive bubble will take some degree of damage, shields usually prevent this kind AOE damage as the AOE only count as a single hit. Do you know how AOE work in this game?

Blink modules ruined tanks completely. Not like they were good thus far, especially after their weight got lowered,so that your bot rocks back and forfth, but now the slowest movement type, which was mech legs/insect legs before and now are faster than tanks with this module, making tanks the slowest unit in the game.Track's armour is garbage compared to the cpu they cost each, also huge targets...They should think about buffing the darn tracks...a T-10 track gets shot down by two simple plasma shots...I find it a bit dumb that mech legs have thrice (3x) as much total health than tracks and they not even cost 2x more cpu as tracks...You can also use mech legs to evade plasmas, jump up onto ridgelines...etc.Tracks are useless.

I agree, maybe FJ wants to get rid of them.

Cool, but what's the advantage of the Walker legs?

Euhm, I meant the 'spider' legs, pretty sure those are called (or used to be) walker legs. But anyway, what's their advantage in addition to the mech legs?

Boost the mobility of your bot by 100% by slapping on one hoverblade, anywhere. But I can't see one anywhere. Lowered functional rating.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
