ROBOT REPAIR SHOP

Medic Tank added 1 year ago

The Repair Shop was one of the earliest designs I ever created. It's gone through several major design overhauls and I decided after this most recent overhaul I should create a page for it. If it looks somewhat familiar that's because originally it was loosely based on Wibblebury's Robot Repair Garage.

As you might expect, robots can drive through it provided they are small enough(and they often are at 80k RR). The handing is fairly poor due to the distance between the two tracks, but as a skilled pilot I can control it just fine. You might be thinking that because it's primarily made of light chassis parts that this design can't take any real hits. That did used to be the case, however, after each redesign I did it became more and more durable. This most recent overhaul that I completed today probably made it about x1.5-x2 times tankier than before, with the addition of a more reinforced skeleton and frame. As in almost all of my designs, a very functional ejector seat has been included.

I decided to buy multiple of every mask part this past Friday, so I decided I would put those to good use in this overhaul. I think they look pretty good. I used a league badge as an arrow to indicate the landing pad and entrance to the garage. The league badge is not affected by blocks minus the bottom frame, and the cockpit cosmetic parts are not affected by each other(for the most part). This makes them really good for creating smooth looking mask combinations. I think it all ended up looking pretty good.

If you like this design you'll also probably like my REPAIR PLATFORM build. Check it out. :)

Nice one. Can you place some nanos inside the garage for actual repairs when you walk in?

Problems I see at a glance...
I think the firing arc has a clearance issue.
Does not use enough glass cubes.
No visible aero rods... how can it be an art bot without visible aero rods?
It can not fly.
It is a shop therefore you are precluding the opportunity for franchising (Robot Repair Shops by Kaeo in every country in the world on each street corner... think about it!)
(Obviously I am kidding just in case someone thinks I am serious) .

Great job as always.... you are amazing!

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
