Dominion - [Cronn] Heavy Assault/Protector Hover

SMG Hover added 2 years ago

Dominion is part three of my Cronn Invasion series. It combines the attack capabilities of an assault hover with the support capabilities of a combat medic, making it very versatile in how it is played in matches.

Dominion boasts plenty of firepower. It can hold seven SMG’s, all mounted tapering down towards the front to provide better firing arcs. One plasma gun is also added to help cap towers, as well as providing long-range fire support. A quartet of nano’s rounds out its payload on the bottom. A DSM is also built into the core to provide cover while withdrawing or healing allies.

As for protection, all hover mounts are tri-forced down and away from each other, similar to the core design seen on Joule. All guns also have limited tri-forcing around them. Around the core is a shell which holds most of the armor in the bot. This shell can be completely destroyed and the majority of the hovers will be still connected, as well as the DSM; which is actually tri-forced to the hovers to help you run away better ;). It may also be noted that the mega hover blade is not necessary for stability, though I will explain its purpose later on.

Dominion is surprisingly agile for its size. It is able to make quick turns to face any threat, with some added power from dual pairs of thrusters helping speed things up. A pair of Cheetah’s embedded into the sides help to keep its speed even over a variety of terrain. The mega hover is there to give it enough thrust to push up steep hills. In fact, it can climb just about anything aside from vertical cliffs, which gives Dominion an interesting variety of options when advancing.

Storyline:
With the Emissaries beginning to run into strong resistance on Mars, the Cronn General Staff ordered main army units into combat. Elite forces were still far off, but two divisions of heavy Dominions were available. These were quickly sent to spearhead fresh assaults on E14 objectives. The new E14 Starstreaks put up admirable resistance, but they were swiftly swept aside and Cronn forces exploited the gap in the front to its full potential. With its forces in full retreat, E14 officials are desperately trying to get reluctant CF Alliance engineers to design a new machine to combat this new threat as Cronn units draw ever closer to the vital mining facilities at Tharsis Rift.

If you have any questions or comments about Dominion, feel free to toss them in the comments below. I hope you guys enjoyed this bot, and stay tuned for more :)

Pros:
- Well protected hovers and gun mounts.
- Excellent agility and mobility.

Cons:
- Mega hover takes a lot of cpu, leaving it as an attractive place to land a ‘crit’ on the bot.
- Tri-force method fairs poorly vs Chain Shredders.

This bot is available on the CRF for forging. Find it by searching Dominion in the search bar.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.
