The Alpha Wing, my first Mega flier! ^w^
It's a megabot of my Beta Wing flier (i'll have to get that up on this site too soon ^^"), which was originally inspired by Delta42008's Delta Wings.

Anyways, the Alpha Wing, Alpha for the beginning (aka megabots), is a heavily armed flier mega, armed with 2 mega lasers and 2 mega plasmas, along with a nominal account of both T10 lasers and plasmas.

Now, soo...

I call the Alpha Wing a multi role flier .w.
That is mainly due to the two modes it can be in.

~~~~~~~~~~
1)The true mode, seen throughout most of the images, is where it has its full range of mega weapons, and is meant to fight other megabots. Average cruise speed is 205 mph. Doesn't perform backflips.
2) The unladen mode trades firepower for mobility, and, in fact, was the first version I came up with before deciding to add 4 mega weapons. The unladen mode removes the 4 mega weapons and instead, adds 2 LOML stingers, so the Alpha Wing plays as a more maneuverable fighter bomber dogfighter. (last slide) It still keeps the 4 laser disintegrators and 4 plasma devastators.
Average cruise speed is 215 mph. Does perform backflips.
Both modes, as well as the tutorial on how to convert between the two, are shown in the video, along with their performances.
~~~~~~~~~~

It's a bit hard to turn, but I think the flier is epic, including a bombardier's cockpit too!

Also fought forged1212 a bit during mega flier battles .w.

Soo... what else to say? xwx

I was considering adding LOMLs as a common edition to the true mode - however, the aircraft was already suffering from difficulties in maneuverability, and I didn't want to make it any worse.

And the symbol at the front slide is the Alpha symbol .w. And yea, I had drew in the glowing and shots myself xP

Yea, hope you enjoyed!

Good bot, but those thrusters though... And why two types of plasma? That serves no purpose, one type is enough.

Thanks for the comment .w. (just moving some stuff up xP). The plasmas, mainly because fliers can't carry as much mega weapons due to weight as regular mega bots, they lack redundancy and back up weapons if just one of their mega weapons is knocked out. The smaller one serves as a back up, in case, for example, a mega smg cruiser shoots off my *only* two, rather exposed mega plasmas.

Also, with the thusters, I want to say the same thing I've said to Zalera. Basically, I like the design how it is, despite how some may not. I've built this as a mega version of my Beta wing, and have tried to keep a similar format with the layout of the thrusters (essentially adding thrusters where they go in spots on the original... ish). Furthermore, trying to hide the thrusters or decrease the number would have led to more structural problems than aesthetic fixes.

Sorry if I was over the top and carried away ono Thank you for your ratings and comment!
I'll see if I can alter the thruster placement or weapons on future builds owo

Aww... ono I'm used to building traditional fliers with thrusters, not propellers (which I used just to help with the weight of the mega)... so it might've been too much...
.n.

*Lil's logic: mega = more thrusters*

Thanks though! owo

Zalera, I know it might look like thruster spam to you, but I've tried to arrange the thrusters the best I can with accordance to the original beta wing. I myself like it this way. This, combined with the entire flier being just 3 blocks thick in the main fuselage, along with a hidden propeller and more hidden thrusters inside, led to very little choice for me. I did not wish to leave much negative space on top of the aircraft, nor could I move the thrusters into the aircraft (again, just 3 blocks thick), nor did I want to elevate massive sections of the fuselage, as my fliers, along with the beta wing, are generally rather flat in design, a design I've wanted to stick to (the original beta wing was just 1 block thick in the fuselage!), along with fear of off balancing my flier if I did raise up sections to hid thrusters, along with added weight and blocking the line of sight for my top mounted guns. Just far too many problems would arise for something, in my eyes, is a minor detail.

Did you try hovers ? :)

8 to 10 hovers can make a plane agile and turning better than with thrusters. Also you don't need thrusters to fly with hovers inside, and more, you only need wings on 1 side to fly because hovers want to stay horizontal ^^

With hovers you can have a chassis 3 cubes thick, this isn't much, and if you want to put thrusters on it you still can add some (you can even dig in 1 layer to kinda merge the thruster with the chassis).

About thruster spam ? No no.. only drones are thruster spam...

Well, finally as you can see in my rating, I don't think this is a bad build, just that all these visible thrusters aren't making it more beautiful, that's all, take care, an see you on your next bot ^^

Sorry about my rudeness ono I got carried away. Thank you very much! owo (my relation with drones isnt a good one- not that i super hate them, just they're sometimes hard to combat them in the air with a flier.. Maybe that's why I got carried away, sorry again ono)

I've been thinking about building a hoverplane- you and forged have both put me in that mind set (awesome builldss owo) I think I'll give it a try :D

Most of those thrusters will simply be extra redundancy, and although this seems like it would struggle to turn 'well' it's excused because it's a megabot :P

*wish I'd found the nominal count for thrusters* It's around 20 ish...

I don't know what color scheme though... ^^" I had premium when I completed the bot, but didn't know what to paint it xwx C6 thrusters are kinda expensive (and dunno if they match as well xP) ;w;

Thanks! owo

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
