Practical Robot

Black Drake

Plasma Bomber added 3 years ago

This build is the product of me messing around with trying to use elements of my Red Bat (cause of how effective it turned out to be) combined with my Black Dragon.

Pros:
-Handles well once you're in the air
-Extremely protected from the bottom, front, and back, with a couple EP on top too
-A little bit of wing redundancy (double vertical rudders are nice)
-Heals very quickly

Cons:
-Very low thruster redundancy
-0 weapon redundancy
-Does not take SMG fire (from above) well

All in all, interesting little bot, seems to do really well and take a lot of damage from the bottom but, the issue is that once the EP are gone there's not enough bulk behind it to withstand much. I'm not sold enough to consider it a version of my Black Dragon, so it'll stay a separate bot for now, hope you like it!

Mmm I might try to go for something like that, but it works really well as is, even if I lose the foil I've got the rudder as backup

Well plated! It looks better than Megaplated Bomber!

Thanks! Overall T10 plates outdo megaplates by a huge margin (when considering the shielding to cpu ratio) so I wanted to avoid them

Use rudders instead of aerofoils. ;)

Aha I tried it (cause they've got a smaller profile) but with the current design, it'd have to be placed one block in front of where the foils are now, and it ruins the handling

nice design, looks very cool. Just hope there aren't many smg flyers that can shoot you from above :P. Although plasma from above can be annoying as well right :P hehe.

Thanks! I've learned to keep distant in any dogfights (cause it only takes one shot from above to take out a lot of my thrusters and or wings, though luckily it won't kill me)

nice work, this kind of builds is very weak from above but this one seems enough tanky

Yeah I really didn't wanna be one of those twigs from the top, so I squished it in order to slap some EP on top, seems to work nicely!

I saw it several times in battles. I got killed by this bot many times and every time I see it I am flashed of how well this design is.

Wow really? I think I remember seeing your name a few times but, I've only actually played this thing a few times, maybe you also saw my Black Dragon, they're pretty similar. Either way thanks a ton!
