Parrot - X2

Aeroflak Copter added 2 years ago

This started as a fun idea and I was delighted to discover it actually works pretty well.

Design background
The idea first began to form when I encountered an enemy helicopter with a front mounted Areoflak Cannon, Plasma Goliath (asymmetrically) and a bottom mounted Plasma Goliath. At the time I thought it was a waste of cpu.
Seeing the Cpu Update patch notes I got the idea to build a silly glass cannon (I've always liked them) using an Areoflak Cannon, 2 Plasma Goliath and the Power Booster.

I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised to find that with some refining (image 10 is from during the process) this bot performs well and even takes 7 flak hits to be grounded (an 8th would destroy the bot).

- The Areoflak Cannon, Rotor Blades, Electroshields and Plasma Goliath can all absorb damage.
- The Plasma Goliath use damage sinks to have a 66% chance of surviving a rail or plasma shot.
- All components other than the topmost Rotor Blade (and Electroshields) utilize their multiple connections and careful splitting to keep them for as long as possible as can be seen in images 6-9.

Other
I plan on adding more connections and Rotor Blade Assaults as I level toward 150.
As several components don't exist on the RCG Cube manager I'm listing them here (in addition to the already listed ones):
[*] 8 Rod Short
[*] 4 Rod Long
[*] 8 Rod L Shaped
[*] 1 Areoflak Cannon
[*] 1 Power Booster

I prefer one mega plasma over 2, just because your already dealing heavy damage with one.

I find that one plasma is more of a sustained-damage weapon whereas with two I can burst fire. Not to mention that as Megaplasma isn't nearly as tanky as Flak, having redundancy helps.

Thanks, just don't hold your breath. As somebody who plays TDM 99% of the time I have a very long way to go.

My current plan (I'm sure MegaPlasma will be changed by the time I reach 150) is to throw on 4 more rotors and then connect everything better with rods. It's going to be a rotorspam, not wallcopter.

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
