Mosquito Gunship

Rail Drone added 1 year ago

Hello y'all, BR here.

Silent, fast, and incredibly annoying, the Mosquito Gunship lives up to it's name by endlessly harassing the opponent from all over the map, landing some nasty stings here and there.

Available in the roboshop under the following filters:
Weapon: Rail
Movement type: Wing (it's put here because of the rudders)
Ranking: 9K-30K

With some practice you'll be the doom of flyers everywhere.

Anyways, i hope y'all liked it.^^

Ever realised mosquitoes are weak as hell?
???
I get it that this is a stealth bot but it's just too damn weak

Yeah, you're entirely right, have a look at my reply to Nysion, there's pretty much the gist of it.

Nice. Looks weak, but at the same time, really sci-fi-ish.

Will pop if poked? It just looks so flimsy, I can imagine a volley of plasma or a few rail shots dealing crazy damage. Sure, it's meant to be evasive and stealthy but that only works so well vs hitscan weapons.

Flimsy is definately the right build for this bot. It does however have one thing that makes it last a bit longer. Probably should've mentioned this in the description, but the bot itself is divided into two seperate halves, connected by the pilot seat only. Each of these halves can move perfectly by itself and has half of the railguns mounted on it. Of course this still doesn't do much against a plasma volley.
It's a bit of a shame we can't divide our bots between practical and creative bots anymore...

While not perfect, damage dead-ending has been removed for the most part as can be seen here: Mechanics updated CRF patch

That aside, how does the bot perform if you lose your back half? I would image lack of rudders could create issues for the remaining front.
The removal of robot purpose might have been an oversight, but it can mentioned in the description.

The rudders are only there to stop this thing from bouncing up and down at high speeds, it's still well-drivable without them, also because the eplates weigh it down somewhat, acting a bit like ski's.
It's just that with the ruddes you can simply floor it without much concern for stability.

Ah i remember now, reading something about the deadending being worked on, the extra connection points were probably to make sure that oneshots aren't too likely to happen with the new mechanics. (with 2 connection points that'd be a disaster)

Oh, and thanks for that favourite BTW.^^

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.
