Eldritch Abomination

Rail Drone added 2 years ago

This build was inspired by s9meNiNE's Stalker style bot. You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bT72Hh_4js&ab_channel=s9meNiNE

My robot of course uses the same play style, stealthy long distance approach. Sticking to walls and acting as a turret of sorts.

It works best in team matches but suffers in the Pit. It dose not tank damage well so if its spotted its generally dead, but if not seen in the odd places it gets to it can do good damage to the enemy team. Hardest part about building it was making it have neutral buoyancy, but that makes it wonderfully easy to maneuver(until its shot).

The name comes from the fact that I thought the final result was similar to one of H.P. Lovecraft's Old ones.

Cubemanager seems bugged for me so the cubes not listed are:
x88 T10 Aero rod L shape
x8 T10 Long Aero rod
x8 T10 Aero Rod Short. 2
x2 Hallowed Rudders
x8 T8 Thrusters
x8 T4 Thrusters
x8 T10 Rail Cannon
x1 Pilot Seat(duh)

Oh this is that bot made me laugh in battle field. The way it sticks on surface is just too funny :D
I guess it is nothing better than usual leg bots, except the ability of shooting from the clear wall. But isn't there too far from front line?

That depends a little on the map, but usually there are other surfaces you can stick to as well, so long as they are roughly flat, and the ground always work. Due to its neutral buoyancy it is also possible(though difficult) to just float still in the air somewhere and shoot from there.

I love the concept of sticking on the walls. Haven't seen that idea out there on the field. so 8.5/10 for creativity.
I can imagine its a very good gun platform as you can choose how far above ground you want to be, therefore getting good clearance and view over the battlefield. Having those legs to support at the wall making it a good stable firing platform for rails. 9/10 for Practicality

Constructive Points

Constructive points are what you get when other users mark your reviews (comment+ratings) as constructive.

When should you mark a review as constructive though?

If you answer yes to at least three of these questions you should definitely mark it as constructive; is the review..

  1. friendly?
  2. helpful?
  3. encouraging?
  4. well structured?
  5. fair relative to the CPU used?

Why do I want these points?

After receiving X amount of points you will get a chance of being promoted to "trusted reviewer". This promotion is done by a moderator if (s)he thinks your comment and rating behaviour is reasonable.

Trusted reviewer?

As a trusted reviewer you no longer need to write a comment when rating a robot. If you add a comment you will receive extra points. Trusted reviewer is not necessarily permanent, continous bad behaviour or lack of comments might get you demoted.

Constructive Voting

Hey, seems like you're about to place your first constructive vote. That's awesome! I just wanted to inform you a bit about it before you jump into voting though. You can vote on any comment accompanied with a rating as a "Constructive Review". This will give the reviewer a "Constructive Point".
